SpaceX Holiday Party — The Museum of Flight, Seattle
LightSmiths was proud to design the lighting for a high-profile SpaceX corporate event hosted inside Seattle’s iconic Museum of Flight. Surrounded by historic aircraft and soaring ceilings, the venue called for lighting that felt refined, intentional, and powerful — without competing with the remarkable environment. LightSmiths worked exclusively with the customer and Pink Blossom Events on the lighting design.
To achieve this balance, LightSmiths focused on elegant chandeliers and custom Standaliers™ to introduce warmth, scale, and visual rhythm throughout the space. These statement pieces created vertical interest and helped define key gathering areas, bringing a sense of sophistication and intimacy to the expansive museum floor.
A foundation of warm architectural uplighting was used to enhance the Museum’s structure and aircraft displays, softly illuminating walls, columns, and exhibit elements while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic aligned with SpaceX’s brand. The warm color temperature added depth and contrast, transforming the large venue into an inviting yet elevated atmosphere.
Targeted spotlighting was carefully layered throughout the event to highlight focal points such as branded elements, featured aircraft, and service areas. This precision lighting ensured clarity and emphasis where it mattered most, guiding guest attention without overwhelming the space.
The result was a cohesive lighting design that honored the Museum of Flight’s legacy of innovation while reflecting SpaceX’s forward-thinking identity — proof that thoughtful lighting can seamlessly blend architecture, brand, and experience.
The power footprint from LightSmiths featured over 300 wireless and battery powered fixture types, including battery-powered spotlights, up-lights, pin-spots, chandelier sources, LED tubes and more. There were only 3 total 20-amp circuits used for the entire lighting design, a feat no other company in the Seattle market could have delivered. Not only can LightSmiths provide an unforgettable lighting design, they can do leaner and greener than any other company in the market.
